By empowering individuals to change their behaviours and mindsets, we create the foundations for transformation in our systems and places.
As a Sport England Place Partner, our role is to find ways to make it easier for everyone to be more active in our place. At the heart of this is our commitment to investing in people to become leaders of change, whilst developing the connections and collaborations that enable the sharing of experiences, ideas and resources.
Our Approach
Our place-based and whole systems approach serves as the foundation for enabling sustainable changes in physical activity, ensuring we work collaboratively with local people and partners, tailoring our work to meet the challenges and enhance the strengths of the unique communities in our places.
Whole systems working
Throughout our lives we interact with many different ‘systems’, such as healthcare, education, government bodies or leisure providers. In TaAF we create opportunities with partners across all these systems, creating sustainable change to tackle the complex problem of physical inactivity in our places.
Place-based working
Through our teams and partners, we develop and implement tailored solutions to meet the unique needs and circumstances of our places (communities, districts and neighbourhoods). Our places have varying characteristics, challenges and strengths that demand a bespoke approach to tackle physical activity inequalities.
