Healthy Hearts Campaign

The Healthy Hearts in Lancashire campaign is a collaboration between TaAF, Lancashire County Council, Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB and the national We Are Undefeatable campaign.

The campaign aims to inspire people living with, or at risk of developing, a heart condition to improve their health and wellbeing by being more physically active.  The campaign shares stories of ten Lancashire residents living with a range of heart conditions, showcasing how moving more has improved their physical and mental health.

Using public health data we identified nine districts in the county where premature mortality from Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is higher than the national English average.

By understanding the local need and population health priorities across Lancashire, the campaign successfully brought national campaign principles to life through the real-life stories of residents moving more for their heart health. It not only inspired positive behaviour change actions for residents but also delivered valuable insights into the importance of local representation in place-based campaigns, and how local partners can work differently to embed movement in health across local systems in a person-centred way.

Whether you work in marketing and comms, public health and wellbeing, delivery of sport and physical activity, and are a national or local policymaker, we believe this report is relevant to you.
